Comments that Joe Biden made while he was at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami have gone viral, and as usual, not in a good way. He had gone to the cultural center on Monday for a campaign visit.
“So, ladies and gentlemen, the good news is, for me, I’m here. The bad news for you is I’m coming back. I’m coming back,” he said as he neared the end of his remarks.
Everything was going as well as they could with Biden up until that point.
That is, until he saw some young girls in the crowd and said, “And I want to see these beautiful young ladies—I want to see them dancing when they’re four years older, too.”
Jack Posobiec posted a video that shows the young girls he was referring to.
As you can see, they are indeed young girls. Understandably, a lot of people have reacted negatively to his careless comment.
Former football player Herschel Walker was also not impressed by Biden’s comment. Even to me, it sounded a bit creepy. “To Joe Biden & campaign, telling young African American girls ‘I want to see you dancing when you’re four years older’ is not only creepy but racist!”
I don’t know about the comment being racist, but it was definitely creepy.
The Biden campaign was again out to save him. They explained that Biden referred to the four-year length of a presidential term when he said he’d be back after “four years.”
How many people even believe that Biden will win the presidential election on November 3? And even if he is elected, do you really believe he’ll get to serve out a full term of four years, and even manage to seek to be re-elected? It sounds a little far-fetched to me.
Regardless of the reason, his comment just came out creepy, and it came out creepier since they were young girls. From the video, it was unclear how old the girls were, but they had danced to Biden’s speech during the event.
If all he really meant was to say that he planned to return during a campaign for his reelection four years from now, there are a lot of ways he could have said it better.
Then again, without the teleprompter, that might have been the best he could do.
