President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said on Friday at Newsmax TV’s “Stinchfield” that the legal team would continue filing lawsuits even after the Supreme Court dismissed the Texas lawsuit.
During the interview, Giuliani called the Supreme Court’s decision a “terrible, terrible mistake.”
The Texas lawsuit has been backed by 126 House Republicans and 17 other states to overturn the four swing states’ election results.
The former NYC mayor also said that the courts basically say they want to stay out of the situation by declining a hearing. They then deprive the Americans to hear the facts.
“The facts will remain an open sore in our history unless they get resolved,” said Giuliani.
Giuliani claims that the case was rejected on standing and not on the merits. He said the president should bring the case to the district court since the same facts would be standing and therefore get a hearing.
When Stinchfield asked Giuliani about President Trump’s reaction and how he’s getting by, he said that the president looks at other options.
“There’s nothing that prevents us from filing these cases immediately in the district court in which the president, of course, would have standing, some of the electors would have standing in that their constitutional rights have been violated,” Giuliani added.
He claimed, “We’re not finished. Believe me.” The president’s legal team considers filing separate lawsuits to district courts.
Both Giuliani and Jenna Ellis called for courage from the courts to permit hearings on the lawsuits.
“I think that regardless of the outcome here, we’re going to continue to do the right thing,” said Ellis.
Giuliani also stressed the courts’ need to hear the evidence filed by lawsuits challenging the election results. “These facts need to be heard,” Giuliani said, adding that voter fraud such as this kind could continue to go on if not prevented from reoccurring.
“If we don’t stand up to it if we allow the big media, the big tech, the Democrat politicians, and the Washington elite—if we allow them to roll over this, it’s going to get worse and worse and worse.”
President Trump has several ongoing legal challenges in the federal and state courts, with some making their way to the SCOTUS.
Other lawsuits filed by third parties and Atty. Sidney Powell’s legal team is also proceeding through the judicial system.
