Daniel Whitney, also known as the comedian Larry the Cable Guy, rebuked a viral video showing more than a dozen Hollywood celebrities singing the hit song “Imagine” by John Lennon.

Whitney emphasized how hypocritical the video’s nature due to the celebrities’ ignorance of the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles. The glaring truth has been in the streets of the city since time immemorial.

“Here’s a message from people with a lot of possessions that can take a year off of work and not flinch telling everyone out of work to imagine a world with no possessions while people are living in the streets half a mile away from ’em,” said Whitney.

A fan even responded to the video, saying it really “pisses me off.” The comedian also blasted the celebrities, calling them “clueless.”

The comedian, however, clarified on Friday that he doesn’t harbor ill-will to Hollywood celebrities. He said the video was only made in “bad taste” and that the communist founder would approve of it.

“I have no animosity toward these folks. The song was in bad taste. Marx would be proud of that song,” continued Whitney.

“And I do imagine no heaven. Jesus gives hope. Government can’t give people a heart change or hope.”

John Lennon wasn’t a communist, nor his song about communism. Yet, Lennon said the song Imagine “is virtually the Communist Manifesto.”

We only wish the celebrities could be a little sensitive too. Not everyone has food on their table after being battered for months.
