Idaho, Spokane, and other parts of Washington’s internet service provider blocked social media giants Facebook and Twitter after the two platforms attacked free speech last week against President Trump and allies.

KREM 2 reported that the move would commence on Wednesday, barring Facebook, and Twitter from reaching users in the said regions.

“It has come to our attention that Twitter and Facebook are engaged in the censorship of our customers and information,” an email said to the WIFI customers.

The email also said that the company had received calls from customers that they don’t want their children to go to the sites and don’t want to see them on their internet feed.

According to Breitbart, since several customers have asked to block the sites, the ISP said it would do so unless the customers reach out to the company to request access.

Apparently, two-thirds of the company’s customers asked for the platforms to be blocked. Despite the reactions, the ISP explained it does not condone Big Tech companies for censoring their users or “trying to exterminate the competition,” including the free speech app Parler.

“Our company does not believe a website or social networking site has the authority to censor what you see and post and hide information from you,” said the email, adding that they decided to block the websites,

“We also don’t condone what Google, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, and Apple are doing either to Parler by trying to strong-arm them into submission,” continued the email. The ISP insisted it wouldn’t block the websites for the customers who would still access them.
