Another news outlet reveals Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden benefitted from business deals between his son, Hunter, and Chinese nationals.
According to Fox News, one of the recipients in the blockbuster email thread allegedly involving the younger Biden verified the messages’ authenticity. The thread appears to outline a payout for Joe Biden in a deal with a Chinese energy firm despite his insistence that he was never involved in his son’s dealings.
One of the emails dating back to May 13, 2017, obtained by Fox News, identifies Hunter as “Chair / Vice Chair depending on the agreement with CEFC,” a now-bankrupt China Energy company.
The email discussed six people’s “remuneration packages” in a business deal with CEFC. It also noted that Hunter wanted to elaborate some office “expectations” – proposed equity split with “20” for “H” and “10 held by H for the big guy?”
Sources admitted to Fox News that the “big guy” referred to former Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden’s link to Ukraine went under scrutiny after Trump’s call to Ukraine’s president was made public during Trump’s impeachment inquiry last year. Trump asked President Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden, suspected of using undue influence into firing a top prosecutor looking into the Burisma case.
A May 2014 email made infamous by the New York Post story shows a Burisma board adviser allegedly asking Hunter Biden’s advice on controlling “politically motivated actions.”
“We urgently need your advice on how you could use your influence to convey a message/signal, etc. to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions,” the email reads.
Less than a year later, another email from Pozharskyi thanked the younger Biden for introducing him to his father [Joe].
Despite massive pieces of evidence, Biden’s campaign maintains denying wrongdoing and claim that the former vice president’s official schedule showed no meeting took place with the Burisma board adviser. However, Politico later backtracked and said Joe Biden might have had an informal meeting with Pozharskyi.
Biden’s camp also said the former vice president’s tax documents showed no involvement with Chinese investments.
Andrew Bates, Biden campaign spokesman, claimed all the allegations are “not legitimate.”
“Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing. Trump administration officials have attested to these facts under oath,” the spokesman continued.
