Prior to the “fools on TV” speech, Charles Barkley, the former NBA star, had reacted to the Breonna Taylor news on TNT’s show Inside the NBA.
“And I just feel bad that the young lady lost her life. But we do have to take into account that her boyfriend shot at the cops and shot a cop,” Barkley said. “So, like I say, even though I am really sorry she lost her life, I just don’t think we can put this in the same situation as George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery.”
George Floyd died after a white police officer in Minneapolis knelt on his neck for several minutes, while Ahmaud Arbery was chased down by a white man in Georgia while jogging in his neighborhood.
Although both Floyd and Arbery were black like Taylor, they had done nothing wrong. Taylor, on the other hand, was with her boyfriend who had shot a police officer.
Afterward, Barkley ranted on live television about the “fools on TV” who still continue to support the “defund the police” movement. He stated that the black community needs the police in their neighborhoods — according to him — especially “when we have crime in our neighborhoods.”
“We have to really be careful on these, you know, I hear these fools on TV talking about ‘defund the police’ and things like that,” Barkley continued. “We need police reform and prison reform and things like that because you know who ain’t going to defund the cops? White neighborhoods and rich neighborhoods.”
“…Who are black people supposed to call, Ghostbusters, when we have crime in our neighborhoods?” Barkley added. “We need police reform, but like I said, white people and especially rich white people, they’re always going to have cops. So, we need to stop that defund and abolish the cops crap.”
Here’s the clip of Barkley unloading on the fools:
Despite what the Democrats are saying, those who actually live in black communities either want the same amount of police or even more.
Plus, after what the Democrat-run cities such as Baltimore look like, why vote for them?
As Kim Klacik said, “Baltimore does not have to vote Democrat.”
